How to reset the Webform URL in your Sandbox and Production orgs

Scenario 1

You did the right thing by trying out Appointiv in your Sandbox before trying in production?  That's awesome! 

But when you registered the webform, you used the vanity URL that you really were wanting to use later in Production.

So now you need to free up the vanity URL from Sandbox so you can go and register it in Prod.

Scenario 2

You just refreshed your Sandbox and the Sandbox automatically copied the Production vanity URL as part of the overall settings.  

So now you need to go and set up a test vanity URL for your Sandbox. 

For Scenario 1, where the vanity URL you want for Prod was initially set up in Sandbox:

IMPORTANT - Log completely out of Sandbox and or Production any time you're registering the app.  Sometimes your browser will cross things up if you're logged into both at the same time.

The basic steps are:

1. First, we need to reset the URL in Sandbox which also releases the URL you want to use
2. Next, go into Production and set the URL so that it gets associated with that org ID

Starting in your SANDBOX

Go to Setup>Custom Settings

Click "Manage" next to Appointiv Settings

Click on enduserWidgetUrl to edit that setting

Click Edit then change the Value to "First Time" without the quotes

Now go back to the Appointiv>Configure>Application Settings.  You'll see that "Register Me" is visible in the button.  Clicking this will allow you to re-register your Sandbox so that the original entry in our database gets overwritten.

Next- go into Production

Now go back into Prod and register again.  You should now be able to use the URL that was previously taken by your Sandbox org.

For Scenario 2, the vanity URL you want to keep in Prod is now copied in your Sandbox - so you need a new Sandbox URL

The basic steps are:

1. First, we need to reset the URL in Sandbox to something that is different than Prod
2. Don't mess with Prod - it's all good as it sits.  No need to reset it.

Starting in your SANDBOX

Go to Setup>Custom Settings

Click "Manage" next to Appointiv Settings

Click on enduserWidgetUrl to edit that setting

Click Edit then change the Value to "First Time" without the quotes

Now go back to the Appointiv>Configure>Application Settings.  You'll see that "Register Me" is visible in the button.  Clicking this will allow you to re-register your Sandbox so that the copied value from Production gets removed and a new unique Sandbox URL can be registered.

All good - you're done!  No need to mess with Production because it is still registered with it's original URL.
