Adding new Statuses to the Attendance Status field
Attendance Status is a great feature. How cool is it to be able to add your own unique statuses? Very cool and you can use your own visual indicators like red, yellow, or green to show the status on the Appointiv calendar just like the standard statuses we send in the Package.
So how do you add a new status?
Easy peasy - just follow the four steps below.
A quick explanation
Since we store the status on the Appointment Stakeholder record, we need the list of statuses there as well. Either by our code or some other magic in Salesforce, if you create your new statuses on the Appointment Stakeholder object then they will appear on the Appointment Detail object.
Step 1
Find the Status field on the Appointment Stakeholder object in your Salesforce Setup and open it up
Step 2
Add your new status. Note that the very first letter or character will appear in the Appointiv calendar. If you want to use an emoji - add it here as the first character of your new Status value.
Step 3
This one is a bit odd but follow along - this is the only way it works - so we just need do it this way.
You have to go to the Appointiv Calendar and actually select your new status on an existing appointment and save it. Once that is done, the Status is now saved on the Appointment Detail object as an option in the Attendance Status field on that object.
Step 4
Nothing left to do but be happy! Your new status is set up correctly. Congrats!
Note - there is a known issue
For some reason, the emojid that look like little squares with numbers inside (1-9) don't show up as emojis on the calendar. They just show up as the number. We're not sure why.
For example, these:
Appear on the calendar like this:
