Welcome Appointiv Administrator! We built the app to be very flexible and handle customer requirements across a variety of industries and use-cases. The Configure section is where you customize the app for your business.
What to expect in this Guide:
- We'll walk you through a guided set up with a basic example. On each screen in this guide, look for a section with the title Steps in our Walkthrough Setup and follow the step by step instructions.
- There is a link to the next step at the bottom of each page.
- The end result we're going for is an example that requires a Service Provider and a Room to both be available before someone can book the appointment. This will allow you to test out the system and learn how it works.
- We recommend you go through this process all in one go before going back to fill in more details for your specific use-case. Our most successful customers tell us they have the a-ha moment once they fully set up and test their first appointment. Then you can go back and add more appointments and more complexity if needed.
Pro Tip: Always remember to hit the Save button whenever you make changes on any screen
First things first- How do I get to Appointiv?
You probably already accessed the Configure screens when you did the Register Me button step after installation but in case that wasn't you - here is how you find the app.
In Salesforce Lightning Experience you choose Appointiv on the App Launcher:
In Salesforce Classic you use the "App Picker":
Next - go to the Configure Tab:
This is where all the admin fun begins.
It's worth noting that all users can see this tab but only the users with the "Appointiv Administrator" permission set can save changes on the pages in this tab. You should have set those users up already in the previous step that is described here.

Pro tip: It's complicated to get all these attributes working properly so that you can be sure your customers only see and can book appointment times that are rock-solid correct.
Because of that - You have to start at the top and go in order through the different side tabs on the Configure page. Even if you're coming back later to add new Categories or Resources or Appointment Types - it's best to keep going down the page after you create these new objects because some areas depend on information from steps above them.
Don't forget:
Once you finish setting up everything in Configure, you still need to add Availability for your Providers on the Schedule Manager screen so that they are available to take appointments.
